About
Steve Unkles began his career in the 1980s, earning a degree in Audio Technology at the American University in Washington, D.C. in 1987. Working in academic settings after college, his work broadened to include all forms of audio-visual media. His interest also shifted away from music production, to using media for educational purposes.

Relocating to the Five-College Area of Western Massachusetts, Steve founded Audio-Visual Archives in 1995. Nearly 30 years later, the technology has been transformed (thankfully!), but the mission remains the same: To provide the best possible media production and preservation solutions. Working from "live to archive", we combine technologies to create content that speaks for the ages. Join us, and make history!

Dave Parnell, Production Assistant. Dave is a valuable asset in all phases of our production and preservation work. He brings a vast knowledge of video, digital imaging, and advanced computer technologies. His creative input is always welcome and refreshing for his outside-the-box thinking.
